What is Young South Asian

Young South Asian (YSA) is an international youth-run, non-governmental and not-for-profit organization that provides young people with leadership development, Democratic and Social Movement, Cross-cultural internships and global volunteer exchange experiences based platform.
YSA focuses on empowering young people to make a Progressive social democratic impact. Currently, this network includes approximately 2,000 members in 20+ countries.
YSA is a Non-governmental organisation that is working for the benefit of Youth, Women and Children globally. YSA was found in 2009 with following objectives in mind:
Supporting the most vulnerable people and to build a brighter future for the youths in every corner of the world.
Making changes to the lives of people in the global community.
Working togetherness for socio-economic development to the target societies through strengthening their capacity and providing humanitarian services to ensure that human rights of all persons are secure in their enjoyment of their freedom that are necessary in dignified living.
Life of freedom and dignity to everyone regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, age and religion and free from violence and human rights abuses in Iraq, justice and peace is our vision.
Providing training in leadership, public speaking, project management, and entrepreneurship to help young people build skills needed to take on leadership roles in their communities and beyond.

Connecting youth with mentors to guide them in personal development, career growth, and leadership.
Ensuring young people are represented in national and international decision-making processes, often through youth councils or advisory bodies.
Advocating for issues that affect youth, such as education, employment, mental health, climate change, and gender equality, by lobbying governments and international organizations.
Supporting educational initiatives that promote access to quality education for all young people, particularly in underserved communities.
Organizing events that focus on issues relevant to youth, such as leadership, environmental sustainability, technology, and global citizenship.
Connecting young people across the world, allowing them to collaborate on projects, share experiences, and learn from one another.
Facilitating cultural and educational exchanges that promote cross-cultural understanding and global citizenship.
Encouraging youth to lead or participate in community projects that address social issues like poverty, inequality, or environmental conservation.
Providing platforms for young people to volunteer in local or international initiatives, developing a sense of responsibility and civic engagement.
Focusing on ensuring marginalized groups, including women, youth, and ethnic minorities, have equal opportunities and representation in leadership and development initiatives.
Developing programs that address the specific challenges faced by disadvantaged youth, such as those with disabilities or from low-income backgrounds.

Mobilizing young people to engage in climate change initiatives, advocate for sustainable policies, and participate in global environmental movements.
Encouraging youth to lead projects focused on environmental sustainability, such as recycling programs, renewable energy, and conservation efforts.
Conducting research on youth issues such as unemployment, education, mental health, and political participation, often using the results to advocate for policy change.
Collecting data to highlight challenges faced by youth and inform international policies aimed at addressing these challenges.
