YOUNG SOUTH ASIAN / YOUTH LEADERSHIP
Start with intention.
Discover your strengths
Reflect on what you bring to a team and what you want to develop.
Practise together
Use peer discussions and small projects to build communication and planning skills.
Build responsibly
Set achievable goals, share responsibility and review the results.
Four habits of thoughtful leadership.
Understand yourself
Reflect on your strengths, assumptions and limits. Ask for feedback from people who experience your work directly.
Listen beyond your circle
Seek perspectives that challenge your first idea. Build a habit of asking open questions before offering solutions.
Make collaboration possible
Create clear roles, share information and give others room to influence the direction.
Act with accountability
Keep commitments, explain decisions and revisit plans when evidence or feedback suggests a change.
PUT LEARNING INTO PRACTICE
Start with a small
team challenge.
A simple project can become a useful learning experience when the team pays attention to how it works together.
Define one shared question
Choose a challenge that can be explored in a few conversations rather than an ambitious promise of transformation.
Rotate the responsibilities
Take turns facilitating, documenting and presenting. Reflection becomes richer when people try different roles.
Review the process
Discuss whose perspectives were included, where communication broke down and what you would do differently next time.
A few questions, answered.
Will there be certificates?+
No certification is currently promised. Any future course should state its learning format and recognition clearly.
Do I need a formal leadership role?+
Leadership learning can begin without a title. Curiosity, reliability and a willingness to work with others are useful starting points.
